thinking i'm going to sell the Solomon's island 88" that you all know. has parabolic springs, weber carb, overdrive, new stainless exhaust, 30" tires that are about new with spare that is new. has hardtop and a bunch of parts that go with it. also still waiting on a bunch of parts and another top that i haven't gotten yet.

bottom of the doors are starting to rust, not sure about the bulkhead, looks like it has been worked on before. brakes feel mushy, think it needs a master cylinder but i haven't tried to bleed them either. was told it needs a water pump but i haven't seen any evidence of that.

some of you might know that truck better then me, we just got a couple new contract's at work and i'm going to be way to busy for the next couple years to tinker with this thing (also teaching myself to play the drums).

also have a slightly used canadian military trailer to go with it.

looking for 4000 or bo. let me know what you think. will get pic's up as soon as i get home and it's not dark.

thanks

That's the Hyperdrive indicator. I don't know about other overdrives, but I have NO problem hearing mine. I must have the cheaper audio indicator.

THe Short Bus does not have an overdrive - it has a Headache Generator.

From what I have found so far, people want more money for a 109. So for now, no 109 for me.:(

I KNOW so.

Stewy, I've seen your place, unless you are making it look like a LR dealership with vehicles along the "levy" in front of your house then there isn't any room. Must be some other fool.

Yea - I got problems with space and rovers. But, it is some other fool this time. I am just an old fool that needs more rover space.

Made it home today with Solomon's Island in tow. Overall it seems to be a good truck. The frame needs some love, but not terrible. The interior is very nice and intact. Have a bunch of spares to go through so I don't know what all is there.

Took it out on a long stretch when I got home and the overdrive works well, but the steering is tight and seems to pull sometimes. Tom B told me the front was rebuilt and the swivels have gaiters so I can't see how they are, but over the next few days I'll go through that stuff.

Hey Galen,
I love that truck. I like the front door windows, they look like the new style that Wise Owl sells, do both panes slide? I used to live in Solomons Islands in the early 70's, what a cool place.

The door tops are just regular replacement tops that are still primer color. They were never bolted down and unfortunately the studs have rusted solid, so they never will be bolted down.

Ken, how big is Solomon's Island? This truck doesn't even have the corrosion in the rear tub where most NADA trucks get it. Also, it only has 36,000 original miles!

Solomons Island is a very small place or it was when I lived there 33 years ago. It was beautiful little fishing village on the Chesapeake Bay, very quiet, sort of rustic. Had a real feel of nature about it.

Galen, great truck! How's the bulk head? Now you need a pic so you can update your avatar... Priorities bro! But seriously when will you take her out....

PS. Next time I'm at Trevor's I'll send that registration/insurance paperwork you requested....

Bulkhead on this one is solid, it's like it was never in the weather. The footwells have some rust and have been worked on, but the upper part is great and I now have vents!

I picked up the paperwork Saturday on the way to get this one.

You need to get the red one more dirty! It looked to clean when I was there.

I'll take her out soon enough but it does need frame repair. I've driven it on the road, but I won't go offroad with it till the repairs are made. Can't wait to have my old truck and new truck together on a ride!
