Hi,

MLK Day is next Monday the 21st. Is anybody interested in a low-key day at Rausch Creek on Green and Blue trails? We have a D1 with open diffs and just 31" tires, so we can't keep up with the expert rigs.

If someone's interested, we'll have to make a "reservation" since they're only open on weekdays with advanced notice. (We only need two trucks.)

Please let us know.

I'd be interested in taking my LR3 out for a "light" day on the trails. Want to try out the M/T's anyway. Anyone else interested?

hmmm...maybe. I can bring the P38 or SIII if it's a light day. I'll know by end of week.

That's great. I'll let RC know we'll be there (at 9:30am, if that sounds OK?).

This'll be fun. There must be a couple more almost-stock Rovers out there that would benefit from a little articulation . . .

Jeremy

Trevor and Randy, you guys should come out with your daily drivers. Would be fun... although Trevor now has springs and tires and a bunch of other mods on his RRC. 109???

The 109 needs a little more maintenance before I'll use it. Like heat. Especially with Max.
But we'll bring the Rangie with my "big" tyres and "radical " suspension!
Ok, 32" A/T's, 2" springs and retainers and a relocated upper rear upper shock mount. And the double shock front arrangment.
And, it is my daily driver....

I personally think the horn+lights feature is something you should consider keeping. It's that much safer for those night runs...

Hi Derek and Trevor,

My son (Jake) told me he can't wait for Monday, and he said "good" when I told him it's going to be cold.
I made the reservation for us at RC.
I'll send an e-mail with my home and cell numbers.

Regards,
Jeremy

Hi Trevor,

Jake's 9, and he's really enthusiastic about off-roading.

He's a friendly, gentle kid with a big smile. Max will like Jake.

Jeremy

I'll be there with the P38. I think there may be a few other stock Rovers coming also. 9:30am in the parking lot.

Sounds great.
We'll be there by 9:30. I have made the reservation. Looks like it will be cold but sunny.
Can't think of a better use of a Monday in January. . .

Jeremy

Matt doesn't get off work in the city until 7:00, and has to come home, then it's two hours from here. We might make it by 10 but much more likely 10:30, given Shaun's top speed of 45mph. Is that at all possible? Or should we forget it this go 'round?

My experience with Lynn at Rausch is she likes to have the groups on he trails by 10, but I don't how much of that policy holds true with all of the improvements/changes of late. They have a lot more staff available on the weekends, and even during the peak season, but I just don't know about the off season.
As far as coming late and trying to find us could be a little difficult if you haven't been there before.
Derek has already told me he's not leaving until 9-ish which means he really may not get there until about 10-ish.
My dog has a broken nail and may have to go to the vet in the am. Not bleeding but he doesn't look happy. He certainly won't be joining us. I may not even make it at this point...

Maybe we could swap cell numbers to make finding the group easier. Mine's 484-238-8127.

I'm still planning to be there at around 9:30.
My cell number is (484) 459-2167, so give a call around then if you're on your way and we can figure things out.
The more the merrier . . .

Dan and I will be there between 9:30 and 10am. If we do need to get on the trails by 10am, we can easily waiting in the big clearing just inside the park.

We aren't going to make it. Matt called from work -his battery is dead and he's waiting for a jump. Between that and the cold we've decided to bail. He's been up all night anyway, and somehow navigating the trails with him comatose and floppy in the left seat doesn't sound ideal.

Catch you next time!

We have to do this again! We had 5 Rovers - RRC, P38a, D90, DI and D3 representin'-and the entire RC to ourselves. Cold, sunny, snow covered ground wih ice everywhere. One tyre took a hit for the team and a recovery strap only came out once, all after I tried to fall of the log bridge.
Thanks to Jake for his companionship to Max, and of course to all of his chauffers (sp)!
Man, I love these automobiles!

Wish I could have been there. We did some minor electrical work on Preston (the London Taxi) and saw Cloverfield at the theater. It was fun but I would have rather been bouncing over ruts and climbing rocks.

That was a great way to spend a brisk, sunny day in January. Thanks to everyone for the help in getting me out of the mud. Here are a couple of pictures. I'm going to set up a link to a photo gallery with the rest of the pictures and video that Jake took.

BTW folks, that's my daily driver Rangie. Warm, cozy, quiet and capable especially when compared to my Big Blue Disco. Well, the Disco is capable...

I am amazed at how well the P38 did yesterday, especially with the stock street tires. I was completely expecting it to be stuck at a few of the mud holes we went through.

Thanks everyone for a great day out.

I spent some time last night placing the pictures and vidoes taken by Jake (remember he's 9 years old) out on an album.
