OK folks .. Are we positive about Pot-luck Saturday dinner and Sunday Breakfast ? I need to let the resturant in Canadensis know before Saturday if its pizza ...put them in a bit of a tizzy when you order for 30 people  ,

I'm for the clam/shrimp bake .. Those of you comming from the south is it possible to purchase crabs this time of year ? We'll take up a collection to reimburse

The boils that Jess and I do have the following ingredients:

Potatoes
Ears of Corn
Chorizo Sausage
Shrimp

You boil all this together and season with Old Bay to taste. You drain the water and pour onto a table on brown paper or some kind of table cover. Then you dig in and pick what you want, sort of like eating crabs.

So if we are going to do this we need:

10-15 Potatoes (cut in halves or quarters)
10-15 ears of corn (cut into halves)
15-20 links of sausage (also cut in half)
10-15 lbs. of shrimp

I have a couple of containers of Old Bay and I can bring potatoes and sausage. Anybody else want to bring corn or shrimp? Anybody have a large pot?

Can a turkey fryer get a large pot of water boiling?

In direct violation of the Geneva Convention I plan on getting my LARGE cast iron pot out of the garage, buying the ingredients at separate locations, closing the curtains, putting on loud music and creating one of my bean concoctions.

It will contain at least seven different kinds of beans, no meat and have a very slight kick.

Leftovers from the above makes awesome omelets the next morning.

You have been warned......:D

Like a couple of big pots, 10lbs of shrimp, about what half a pound of old bay, bag of potatoes, small children? Or what a bunch of steaks and dogs and such?

Bill Bettridge says crabs are too pricey.. I'm for the shrimp boil.. Saw jumbo farm raised at local store $11 per lb. We could take up a collection to cover costs? Thoughts?

Let's do the boil but bring something else for kids and whoever else doesn't want to participate. I'll get the potatoes, sausage and corn. Anybody want to get the shrimp? Jess's recipe says 10-15 pounds, but that seems high. Maybe 5 pounds?

I'll bring some bacon, eggs, oj, and bread (is there a toaster?) for breakfast. I'll also bring some beverages, probably a variety case of microbrew and a couple 2 liter bottles of soda. Should I bring the portable grill? I've got some venison tenderloin if that sparks anyone's interest. What else is needed for dinner?

I'm heading to the grocery store now so I'll see if I can find some things. Looks like most things are covered, but I'll get some more drinks and whatever else hits me as I browse the aisles. Any last minute ideas? Post up quick!
