I think some of you have painted your trucks yourselves or have had them painted with a "patina" or dull paint finish like the MOD trucks. I've seen tan and green. I really like this look and was wondering what product I could use if I wanted to do it myself. Or even if I wanted to have a body shop spray it. Someone told me Martin-Senour makes a product called Trio Prime which is a natural green primer and would have the look I'm going for. I'd have to buy a spray gun for that. But I think I want tan. I've even heard of people rolling on their paint. I've heard the military does this when the vehicle is going to be used in another environment like in the desert etc... Funny I've always made fun of people painting their own cars, like the punk kid on my block who painted his camero flat black, what goes around....

I rolled my series with marine paint. $30 a quart (used 2) and its held up well so far. The only thing I dont like is that it is too shiny. But I was told that it will dull out after a year or so if I leave it outside. It was the "funnest" project I ever did with my truck :D

What are you painting?

If you want tan go with Krylon Almond Gloss. It is a very close match to limestone. Your 88's top and wheels were done with a spray can.

if the 88 doesn't sell I'm going to paint it, if it does sell I have 2nd place dibs on Tevos 109 and I'd paint it. If I don't get that I'll paint the D2, somethings getting painted!

If you want, I'll drop off the 90 back at your house and you can paint that... since you just gotta paint something!

:)

Btw, I put the full roll cage on yesterday, looks good.. I now have to find a good top for it (probably going Surrey)... may convert that fastback that's with it into something that'll work with the full cage too.

I used good old spray paint. Nice to touch up, and if you don't clear coat it, it turns a nice old faded color pretty quick.

Sweet, send some pics when you get it all fitted up, I used to run it with just the front portion of the top on....
