Update on my truck - got a call about the frame yesterday. They were putting the order in @ Richards and updated me on the price before ordering and it went from +- $3000 to now $4800!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't know what to do, so I'm asking everyone.
Does anyone have a lead on a Series III 109" military frame?

Price of steel is sky-rocketing. We have seen it at my company. Don't have an alternate solution--just an explanation...

Good Luck:confused:

whoaaaaaaaaaa... I'd call every vendor in the area and see who has something in stock. I just gave my frame away. I think I should have scrapped it!

Jeff Wilson has a frame that is brand new, but not galvanized. It is a 3-door I believe but not military.

Does that help at all?

Who did you call? RN?

I hunted for months for a military chassis for the wife's ex-amby 109, and ended up buying a standard three door chassis. I was put off by the cost and the three to four month wait for a military chassis. I started looking for a standard chassis for my 109, and ended up buying a new old stock military chassis from Don in Ct... So my civvy 109 is on a military chassis, and the wife's ex mil is on a civvy chassis. Figures...

I was quoted $3500.00 for the military chassis two years ago.

Neil,

How bad is your frame? What about new horns, removable x-member, etc. and a galvy dip? Has to be a lot less than $4k.

If the "cancer" hasn't spread throughout the entire chassis, then repairing would be much more economical. A 110volt MIG welder will run under $500 and is surprisingly easy to use or even if you payed someone to weld you would still come out ahead. You'll find a million other uses for the welder if you get one.

Update - Turns out after Les @ RN went back and forth with Marsland for a week to make a frame for me they wouldn't. Don't quote me, but Les says Marsland is not going to make 109" frames anymore, not enough people rebuilding them. They will still do 88" and now Defender frames.

...Back to my dilemma. It looks as though I am the proud owner of a new frame, thanks to Jeff Wilson!!! Not military but it will do fine.
Thanks Galen for the heads up, and thanks to every one for suggestions.

Neil,

Glad you found one! I think Richards still make whatever you want, but again in the UK and it'll cost you.

What condition is your old frame, and what do you plan to do with it? I might be intrested if it is salvageable...

you all crack me up. It took me three weeks to make my FREE 109 frame go away. 3 people all wanted it and couldn't show up. It went to the scrap yard yesterday.
