Wal-mart has the right plug. You want the euro 7-wire to 4-wire connector. It has a little box on that converts the LR system to 4-wire. Costs like $20.

Not sure about the D-1 but my D-2 had a harness thingy with all the wires needed to adapt the Wal-Mart plug-in inside the passenger side rear brake light area behind the light.

D-1 Owners manual might show where that plug is hidden. Should be in that general area. I used a multi-meter to find what plug holes did what as far as right signal/left signal, brake, tail and ground. I then took some 1/4" crimp connectors for slipping over a screw, cut off half of it (trash) and pushed it into the appropriate holes in the plug.

The D1 trailer plug is behind the trim panel by the pass side tailights.

RAVE has all the wires listed. Easy-peasy. Took me 10 minutes in the RRC and 20 in the Series, only b/c I re-wired all the rear lights in the truck. If I can do it anyone can.

That plug can get corroded and then you end up splicing the harness together anyways.

Not sure if this would apply to you or not...

On my 03 D2 I bought the LR kit that uses a 7 pin form the truck to a 4 pin to the trailer. Well if you plug that 4 pin into the 5 pin(my boat) it wont unlock the brakes when backing up so heres the trick.

When backing up, connect blue wire to brown wire and turn on your lights, it will disengage the brake when backing up.
