In the market to replace the Goodyear bias ply tires on my 88. Have it narrowed down to Dunlop R/T or Trxus M/T, both coming in at about the same price; $170 (tire and shipping). Would like any feedback on experiences with the trxus tires or any sources for better pricing. Thanks. Hope to get them by SCC 235.85.16's

I loved the trxus when I had them. I little noisy on the road but good in snow and mud. Pretty good on the street too.
I think I bought mine from summitracing.com awhile back for 130 a tire plus 11 shipping per tire.

Im now using the Cooper Discoverer ST in 235/85/16. Very similar tread to the Dunlop RT. These cooper are my new favorite tire. I good mix between a AT and MT style tire.

I run that size Truxxs on the current 109. Also had been on the Disco 1, my other 109, the Rangie SWB. Same set of wheels and tires fit on a lot of Rover products!
They get the job done and balance up well enough.

Picked up a set of Dunlop Mud Rover's for a customer's 88 S2a for $151.84 each including freight from Delaware to Hershey.

Ok4wd quoted me $194 for the Truxxs.

I actually just ordered/installed 5, 235/85/16 Dunlop R/t's for my D2 with newly installed 2" OME lift. They look great, def meatier looking in person. I need to let some air out, my mech who put the tires on put in 70lbs and it rides rough. I do def notice that they are quieter than my Nittos I had on my 18's. Ill post a pic when I get a chance. Best deal I found is Discount tire becuas eof free shipping. Tire rack wanted $93 for shipping to MD. Only thing is Discount Tire is now out of stock.

Call Pete at Liberty Station, he matched the online price, and mounted and balanced them for the same money.

I had trxus's and they were pretty crappy.. they would never stay balanced, and the inner belts on them would go and kill the tire... I went through 10 of them to get 4 that worked... and they lasted under 20k miles... just my take on them. I now have BFG MTs and love them.

Hey Larry,

What are you doing with your old tires? I need some 7.50x16's as spares and if I remember correctly you have 7.50x16's?

Hey Larry,

....don't you need the rims to be able to put tires on? :D

Neil;Yes I do, will get the rims before I order the tires, some how. And Galen I have not given much thought about the 7.50. 2 new tires, 3 good to very good and, one is junk.
