After driving, and shutting down and sitting for any length of time it will not start. It is behaving as if it ran out of gas and has to re-prime itself. (Extensive cranking, a few false starts and then a normal start and running).

I installed a see through fuel filter in the line and can see the fuel disappearing. Also, there was a slight leak where the fuel line connected to the carb (since remedied) and there was some bubbling around it after shutdown. It appears that there is pressure building in the carb. Is it vapor locking? Is the gas in the carb boiling and pushing the fuel back through the fuel pump creating the empty line?

Any suggestions here?

The engine is a 2.25, the carb a Zenith.

Sounds like you'll be hot fueling it for SCC huh.

OK, after some research I came across the phrase "float bowl vent to prevent vapor lock"........using the diagram on page 14-L of the green bible, does anyone have an idea where this vent is? Is is internal? External?
