I have an old house I'm restoring (kind of like an old Rover only less hassle) It belonged to a very prominent local guy named McFarland and he had extensive gardens when he lived there. I need to canvas the grounds for artifacts before we rototill the soil to make way for a new lawn and I wanted to avoid buying a detector. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Derek

Awesome house! No metal detector though - sorry.

Where's the house Derek? Nice subtle way to add Land Rover content. :)

Derek,

I was just looking into stump grinders at the local rental place (Ironstone on 743) and they rent metal detectors for 15 bucks a day. I'm guessing that if they have it most tool rental places do.

hook a giant magnet to the bottom of your truck.

drive over the lawn and rip buried treasures from underneath.

sell treasures to rich people.

pay for ROVERS club to do month long safari in Africa.

You must post photos of anything you find. Being a group of Land Rover owners, you know that we would find the most useless piece of junk completely facinating.

House is in Harrisburg, built in 1876 - the 2a feels young next to it. Thanks for the tip on renting a unit Trevor, didn't know they did that. They're too expensive to buy for a one time use, although I could always use it at Rausch to find all of the parts that fall off the LR3 - oh wait they're plastic :)
