I've been thinking about new tires for my Disco. Anybody running 245/75/16 on their trucks?

The 235/85 seem taller (and more money) and the 750x16 seem unavailable.

Thinking about these tires here:http://treadwright.com/Tires-245_75R16_M_T-P42.aspx

I have a 95 Disco running the 235/85 in the Firestone Destination MT. The tires are pretty beefy with 10 plys of durability the tires should create approximately 1.5" of lif on the rig. Few things to consider - With the 235/85 I find a tremendous power & take off loss in high gear (which is an annoyance if you are towing or driving on the highway). You can alleviate the power loss by changing your Diff gearing. In low gear and off road there are no problems at all. With a 235/85 size you will need to trim at least 1" off of the lower rear section of the rear wheel well wich is pretty easy using a Dremel tool. Im not sure if the shorter sizes do it, but with the 235/85 the front tire will rub on the radius arms at full turn of the wheel. The tire rubbing to me is not that big a deal and it does not hinder the driving performance. You can alleviate the rubbing by adjusting the wheel stops (I have not tried to figure out how to do that yet).

Personally, I am looking to downsize my tires to the 245/75 or possibly something closer to stock to avoid the need to change gearing.
