I think its $25 bucks to cover the heating bill ( its COLD ) and a few other expenses ( porto-potties ). Well well worth it. I know Evan is having a tough time online so soon we'll start a list. Keep watching here....

We meet up on Saturday morning in town usually around 9ish.

I did learn however, don't use the bathrooms and look around when you first get there. Go straight to a bed and claim it!!

Hi Folks !
Sorry for the delay in Info .. I lost the hand crank and couldn't start the computer ,that and finials at school, kids, parents, dogs, bills exwives...well its been busy around here..

Snow at the cabin varries from 10" to 24" with lot-O-ice on the road in .
Chains will be needed unless the weather changes significatly . We've updated the shower and kitchen faclities since last year. Beds space is limited to 24 bunks. Bring your sleeping bags and personal items .

Lets try a "potluck" dinner for Saturday evening.. bring a covered dish, perhaps Sean can attach a list to this thread so we don't have 12 dishes of baked beans ..

More to come

Evan,

Thanks for organizing this again. I'll be bringing the Disco II with myself and one other (Emily). This year I have actually received the chains that I had ordered but not yet received last year, so I'll have winch, chains, miscellaneous recovery gear, tools, and plenty of food. I still have most of my electrics hanging out, but one of these days I'll organize it better.

I think I probably ought to bring some of that dry cured bacon again, but so far as the potluck dinner goes I am thinking about bringing some nice hearty soup (Scotch broth) and bread rolls to go with and perhaps some chicken or beef satay.

I must confess, I have been looking forward to this trip since... umm... the last one. Also I have been introducing Emily to Land Rovers, which she thinks are cute, and have been mentioning the Spruce Cabin trip to her for a while, so I think she is rather looking forward to it too. She is small, immensely cute herself, and likes taking photographs of everything.

The check is in the post already...

Merry Christmas to one and all!!!

Donald

I saw the list of who's going -- what kind of vehicles will be running? I was hoping to make some nice images this year -- maybe be a passenger for most of the runs so I can shoot some pix.

Hey Steve, is LRM looking for art from SC this year?

Evan,

If I remember correctly last year you kept the power running through the day. Is that correct? My wife wants to make some homemade potato soup for the dinner but it needs to stay warm in the crock pot. Just wondering if that is possible?
Hope to have my series by that point but I think it will be a stretch.

thanks,

Word gets around, huh? <grin>

Yeah, it is newish. A whole year newer than my existing Disco. I am planning on picking it up in the next week or two so there is a good chance I may bring it along. I think that what is going to happen is that each of my Discos will get jealous of each other and will demand to be upgraded further, accordingly. Also it means that I shall clearly need a nickname for my existing Disco, so that once they're both in the stable I can differentiate it from the pig. Still workin' on that.

Paul and I will be there. Oddly enough, my Land Rover tally keeps climbing, but the number of running rovers remains the same at 0. Seems I was in the same boat last year! Of course, riding along with Bill was worth the trip, even though we got lost while in a cue! Good Times!

Got a report for the camp.....still snow covering on the ground and 7-10 inches forecast for this evening . Looks to be another fun event. 25 folks booked, with 22 beds and 2 roll-a-ways. I'll sleep in one of the recliners, then I won't snore as much as usual.. Hate to turn anyone away, We still have room for a few more but its floor space only .

Please be prepared for all type of weather ....it could be 50 and sunny or -10 and snow.... I strongly suggest chains , at least one recovery point if your planning on testing the trails

As of tonight I plan on meeting all Saturday at 8:30 AM in Canadensis . Intersection of State routes 447 and 390 . We depart for the gate at 9:00 AM sharp !

Happy Newyear !

Just wanted to say what a great time I had and thanks to Everyone who
made it happen especially Evan for allowing us to use his little piece
of heaven.

Speaking of which, some of you may have seen us stop and pick up Two
balloons on the trails, anyway there was a card attached and the
balloons were released from Franklin Hills Memorial Cemetery on Dec 3rd 2005
The card read:

My Baby Boy Justin

There isn't a day that goes by that your Daddy doesn't think of you.
There isn't a thing that I do that I don't wish you were with me. Every
time your brothers and I playI always think of you and wish you could
also play You would be 9 months old now and into everything. Last night
as I was going through the gifts with your Mommy for your brothers I
couldn't help but realize there wasn't a stack for you. I so wish you
could be here for your first Christmas, I know you would be pulling on
everything hanging from X-mas tree that you could reach. I miss you so
much. It has been so hard on your Mommy and me as we go through the days
without you here with us. Your brothers ask about you often, but these
are things you already know watching over us from above.

I love you and miss you very much my boy.

Daddy

I would like to know where this ends up

This card was released from Franklin Hills Memorial Cemetary on dec
3rd 2005 Coral Winchester OH

Whomever finds this card should know you have just been touched by an
Angel
