Next weekend I'm hoping to paint the sides of my hardtop to match the body. The PO painted the body just last year with Acrylic Enamel made by PPG Ditzler, pastel green #38504.

Two questions:
1- Where can I buy this paint?
*(I live in NJ.....but I know that there are quite a few PA guys here, I work in Conshohocken. So any specific PA shops would work as well)

2- Any general tips or suggestions? *(Sadly I must admit.....I've never painted anything before, so this project makes me a little nervous)

Thanks again for the help.

Sorry, been having satelite modem problems.

I use Dupont brand paints, mainly because my nearby auto parts place carries it. Try one of you local real auto parts places, not the generic AutoZone and similar. I used Ditzler brand when I lived in the next county, again from my local auto parts place.

Sorry that I can't be more specific as to location.

If your existing top sides paint has a good finish, leve it in place and paint over it. Painting bare aluminum is a pain, needing special prep, etch primer, etc.

Spray via spray gun, either a siphon or two sizes of gravity guns. I've been using Dupont Centari on the latest Series without problem. You might be able to find a place to mix the colors into a spray can....

Try your local NAPA. Our NAPA up here is also a PPG dealer. Worth a shot.

EDIT. Nevermind, I forgot that you need to be a certified shop(painter) to purchase PPG products, the company is particular. Sorry.

DuPont is decent paint as well, and that you can buy as a DIY'er.
