scatterling

As my rebuild progresses I run into unforeseen snags. While putting my rear cylinders on I noticed the passenger one was hanging up. Took it apart and saw a score in the bore - probably explains why the truck was lurching to one side before taking it off the road!
I started to research new cylinders and found Lucas ones for around $50. I then found a company in Virginia who rebuilds and sleeves cylinders with brass. They wanted $80 to rebuild a cylinder and guarantee their work for as long as you own the truck.
I shipped both down and got them back in less than a week - bead blasted, resleeved and rebuilt using all new parts. They also coated them in a baked on epoxy finish.
They seem to slide better than when they were new - we'll see after the truck is moving under it's own steam again.
Anyway, if anyone is interested:

Great company to deal with.
