I'll have to sign up when I get home - aparently Justin's site is considered hostile content here at work:mad:

Ok, the MAR is behind us and I for one had a great time, but it's time to get down to some serious fun!
Help spread the word! This event has a lot of potential, and a whole lot of Rover people would be great!

I will be there. I might even get a spec of dust on my series.

'95 D90

You mean like the D90 in his signature line? Only thing I knew that Frank had that had a 90" like wheel base was a Tracker.

Frank84
10-09-2009, 07:20 PM
haha - the tracker has an 86" wheelbase actually! I picked the 90 up in Connecticut about a month ago to replace the tracker. It was definitely not one of my most practical decisions, but it is one of the most fun!

Perhaps the most amazing thing about driving the 90 every day now is how much smoother and quieter the Strange Rover has gotten.

Rob P

Well how about a picture Frank?

Frank84
10-12-2009, 01:07 PM
Here's a shot of it. The paint is in great shape. It's not perfect, but close enough for me. Still taking the strange rover to rausch though!

So, is anyone else going? I'm signed up. I talked to Justin at lucky8 and he said it looks like they'll have around 30 or 40 trucks.

Nice D-90, Frank!

Jake and I plan to come hang around on Saturday, but we no longer have a suitable vehicle for trails at Rausch Creek.

Yes you do! The LR3 or the S1, right?

That looks sweet Frank. You should have your 401K built back up again in time to retire.

I actually didn't mean to skip it - I want to go back some day! I just needed something slightly more driveable for everyday use.

We have had some comment about this. Some people have the impression that this event will be a Rock Crawling Comp.

Actually part of the weekend will be a Lead/guided run on green (easier) trails and along the way we will stop and watch who ever wants to try some of the more difficult trails do so. The offshoots generally run right near the trails and can sometimes be viewed right from where your truck is or a short walk away.

There will be plenty of activities for stock or near stock units over the weekend

We really wanted to attend this one, but we have too much work to complete on the house / garage addition. We have to prime and paint a two story stairwell this weekend, before the spiral staircase can be installed next week. Too many projects.....

Did you tell them you were going to ROTR? Because we have an area that will just be us and were dinners will be served.

Frank84

I think I ordered the ROTR with the camping and meals. I guess that is what I meant by reserving a spot. Do we need to do anything else?

Thanks for organizing a fun event, and for all your patience and tolerance with us whiny beginners! Well, maybe just me, but thanks anyway.

That was a seriously awesome weekend at Rausch. Can't wait to do it again!

Making it Friday/Saturday was really nice so I could take my time heading back on Sunday - I was pretty tired from sleeping in the cold and all the activity all weekend long. Apparently my rover was tired too cause it took a 40 minute break just off I-78 near Lehigh before deciding to continue on the rest of the way to jersey.

Thanks for an awesome weekend. Perfect weather ( well, except for low 20's on Saturday morning), good food and a great group of people. We must do it again!!

Here's an email I got from Shane today:

----------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys,

Nice to meet you all this weekend.

Here's a link to some of the photos from the event.

My daughter and I were both a bit trigger happy and ended up getting some
pretty good shots. There's two really good sequences starting at 695. I
didn't realize it at the time but I caught Dana's approach, jump and
landing.

Feel free to download (open the photo and click the download link and you'll
get a higher res photo). Also, please share with others who were at the
event as I don't have their email addresses.

Here you go: http://gallery.me.com/coryms#100076&bgcolor=black&view=grid
or the tiny URL: http://tinyurl.com/yjx68sm

Best,

Shane

P.S. Those jump sequences would look great framed and side-by-side on a
wall. Let me know if you need any cropped or edited in some way.

I've had trouble with it not starting when it is cold out many times before and this was the first time it happened when it was warm - turned out to be a bad connection at the starter. At least I think it was a bad connection. I cleaned the contacts and it started. Didn't shut it off until I got home.

Interstingly enough, the page I got this picture from is a Sake site called TrueSake http://www.truesake.com and I found it quite interesting despite the fact that Sake has never passed these lips.
