Had a great time - thanks to anyone who had to pull me out and a special thanks to Randy for swimming in the mud for me :D
Most importantly, thanks Galen for not damaging the wife!! ;)
( I think Kelly has the bug, on the drive back she wouldn't stop talking about winches and clearances and kinetic straps and making the 88" HER daily driver)

Excellent pics Neil. Thanks for the dream. I think its time I got my series dirty!

Can I borrow that mechanic wielding the hammer on the red Defender... she seems to know what she is doing :D

Was hoping someone would know who owns or knows anything about the silver series station wagon with the truck cab hardtop.

I took a number of photos, but I have to transfer them from the RAW format to JPG and reduce the size to post. I'll try to post asap.

Various pix- same mud hole in different directions with the same result: Xtreme Winch Usage

More from that mud hole. Everytime my "spotter" got in the window to shout encouragement and to disparage my reputation as a capable off road driver, I'd put the Rover in gear and squeeze the throttle. Notice the mud splatter on the dash, rear view mirror, door panel. And spotter.
Plus that pic of Neil by Pouch's D2 shows how deep that hole was. It took three winches-mine running through 3 snatch blocks- to get out.

I noticed no pictures of Galen's ride being winched out of that hole although the one shot looke kinda suspect........Me thinks it drive right through while the SUPER DISCO got horribly hung up.

Well, that is one fast winch on that Series. He could hook up, power in, and re-spool in the blink of an eye.

I found that to be a hindrance in multiple winch recoveries. My winch seemed to do the lion's share of the work. But it never stalled so the winch really is a great design. And nothing looks better on a Series.

Is that the 8274 Warn winch or an older variant?
