Noticed on the trip back from Sven on Saturday that my steering pump has started whining. Are these things servicable in any way? What will happen if it craps out? Rovah Farm has one for $184. Seems better than the $400 that AB wants - but again I don't know which one is better.
Any ideas?

They are serviceable but usually it is only a temporary fix. Talk to Randy he's got a brand new Meridian that is a good buy.

You can hold off the leaks if you use Lucas Power Steering Fluid. It is thick like molasses and will fend off the inevitable for a while. Just follow the directions on the bottle.

Well there is a universal GM pump that will work on a D1. I know RandyW has done it before, so he knows more about it than I do. NAPA sells it for $60!

OK Neil ignore my pm

You want a pump not a box I have a Chevy pump all set up for a '95 It would be a matter of adjusting one hose to length for it to fit yours and I have a used OEM one

Actually they are 90 something + a $25 core which you might get a way with your old Rover pump

Yeah, as long as the person at the counter is Ray Charles.

Does any ony have another pump for a '95. Mine has been whining fr a while and the Genuine part is $450+- at DAP-inc. Has anyone experience with the longevity of the aftermarket pumps?
