View Full Version : Series II lug nut pitch?

Does anyone know what the size and pitch are for a Series II lug nut? The ones that take a 15/16 socket and acorn on both sides.

My problem is that I'm trying to fit a set of wheel spacers made for DI/RRC. The bigger SII lug nuts don't fit into the holes in the spacer. Therefore, I'm trying to fine some smaller lugs that fit a SII stud.

Series 2 like Discovery 2 not a Series II? I thought the lugs were 1 1/16th?

No, an actual Series II as in my mid 60's Sankey trailer, not a DII

Understood. (now anyway, my confusion stems from the referance to the RRC/D1)

Are you putting the spacers on the Sankey? If so, the early double-ended 15/16 nuts are likely the smallest you'll find.

I searched the web but couldn't find a thread pitch. The early double-ended nuts where used up until late IIa production, when LR switched to the larger single-ended nut but the thread pitch remained the same. Then during SIII production they went metric.

Yes, the spacers are going on the Sankey.
I tried to swap in a SIII hub but the brake drum is different and the spacing on the spindle don't match either. The SIII hub sits too far inwards and rubs on the brakes.
On the spacers, I'm about 1mm shy of fitting my thinnest socket in there. I may just bore out the holes with a drill press.

thanks
