My first engine rebuild has commenced.

Is there a justification for the price difference for an OIL PUMP Assembly, MAIN BEARINGS, and PISTON ASSEMBLY .040.

OIL PUMP: ROVERSNORTH $535, ROVAHFARM $175,
MAIN BEARINGS: ROVERSNORTH $130, ROVAHFARM (Allmakes) $27
PISTON ASSEMBLY .040 ROVERSNORTH $188, ROVAHFARM (Allmakes) $54

The desparity in price seems strange.

Roversnorth mostly sells only Genuine Land Rover parts. Aftermarket suppliers like Allmakes and Britpart offer pattern parts that tend to do the job adequately.
Sometimes, a Genuine Land Rover part is made by a supplier who packages the part in the expensive white box with the pretty green oval on it. Than, they also sell the same part in different packaging with the same part number through another distributor for less. I'm sure there are other aspects to production and marketing that I'm not familiar with, but this is one reason for the price differences.
A quick example- a wheel bearing for a RRC is $50 from Rover, made by Timken and is half that from NAPA, also made by Timken.
Haven't used those engine parts so I can't offer a quality assesment. I do like working with Trevor at Rovah Farm.

Me thinks you might be a bit biased towards the name of the salesman.

I've worked with Trevah.....he good people.

I have three engines in the barn that need rebuilding...maybe I should start doing homework.

Oscar is alive?????? Thought he wasn't around anymore.

Hey Oscar, do you fly out of LVIA? My company is doing some work in the terminal up there.
