I just got a free snowblower this year.
I got a free weight for the trap door in the new garage.
I got some free copper working tools.
Trash picked a nice drop leaf coffee table.

From time to time, I have found it difficult to give stuff away for free. Plenty of people will say they'll take something but won't actually do it. Recently I was forced to put an old English wardrobe (circa 1957) on Craigslist for a high enough price to make people think it was nice. I gave it to the guy that showed up, but only after some discussion, and he was happy.

My brother stills mows his grass on the riding mower I picked out of my neighbors trash 7-8 years ago.

There isn't enough room on this forum to list all the things I have pack-ratted away. Free stuff finds me and I tend to hang on to most of it. I do regift some though.

I picked up a Rover 3.5 V8 engine (dissassembled) for free from CL.

It is almost all there - missing the timing cover and things forward.

It looks ok on visual inspection.

The strange rover was free. it even came with free delivery on a flat bed!

lots of free and nearly free parts over the years from club members. tons of free advice too.

hmm free stuff this year:

Got 2 milk crates of sampson deck brackets from the father in-law for the new deck i am building

Got 500 feet of 14/3 wire from the Uncle (not sure what I am going to wire with it yet)

Got a valve stem replaced from Pep-boys for free, and the tire mounted. The guys there liked the idea of the tire on the hood, they said it is much easier than the hand cranks on most trucks

Got a free car was at the Mini dealership after I bought a jug of Tranny fluid for the Defender (MTF-94 spec)

Got a free key chain and Hat from Prestige Land Rover

Got a case of shot gun shells for a hunt in Arkansas......

I gave away:

about 5 yards of top soil to the family (with delivery)
about 1 ton of bluestone (crushed)
away an old deck to my neighbor


thats about it.
