I know it's kind of an odd day (it's a Tuesday) to hit the trails, but Jake has the day off from skool . . .

Anybody interested in heading to Rausch Creek on May 18th?

Well, we kind of crossed 'party lines' and bought a Japanese knock-off of a Series Rover, with an American engine and some fairly significant suspension/steering modifications. If we (I) had more driving skill, Jake and I should be able to keep up with your D1.

Having said that, we'd go with a group at any level. It'd just be great to get out with some Rovers. And we'll tow it up there behind the LR3.

Suzuki perhaps? I need to ck out the rear diff on big blue, but I guess I could always take Randy's D2, formerly Derek's, as it's just sittting here taking up real estate.
I was going up on the 25th for the OK4WD customer appreciation day, but may just sneak out Tuesday as well.
I'll let you know soon...

Toyota FJ40, but with fuel-injected SBC, SM420 gearbox with stock t-case, 37" tires, linked front, SOA rear, hydro steering, stock axles with stronger internals and 'lunchbox' lockers. Looks a little like something from a Mad Max movie.

We were planning to go to R.C. on April 25th already for our first outing in this 'rig.' We hadn't seen that the OK 4WD event is that day. We were going to go to a Keystone Krawler monthly ride, but maybe we'll change our plans. Either way, we will see you there.

By the way, we also plan to go up to watch the KoH race on May 7th. We did that last year and it was really entertaining.

Is the FJ streetable still? Got a picture?

I think that tuesday is probably out for me but I do need to get to Rausch sometime soon.

Not streetable. Strictly for messing around at Rausch Creek, etc.

I see cold/wet/sunburn/windburn in your future. Plus a good smattering of mud from spinning tires. Perfect!

Yes, well the first thing I'd say is that this is an experiment.

We have full 'soft' doors and a heater. We plan to buy a crummy windshied frame, a bimini top and a duster after we get through a day or two of use. (The PO broke the windshield when he rolled it into a tree.)

Did I mention that this is an experiment?

Why do I have visions of Dr. Honeydew and Beaker driving around Rausch in this thing?

I'm out for Tuesday- need a ring and pinion for big blue, and-surprise- I've got a driveway full of Rovers! See you Sunday?

Sounds good. Jake and I will be there Sunday (hoping for dry weather).

BTW, you ever have Roverlab decals made up? We'd like one or two if you do.
