For sale. 1976 SWB RHD Series III. Red frame. White hard top.

$2500 Located in Scottsville, VA.

I've had this truck for almost 3 years and it's time to pass it on to a new owner. I bought it from Derek and Trevor in Hershey, Pa. It was listed for sale on Dweb years ago here (http://www.discoweb.org/forums/showthread.php?t=42148&referrerid=11542) by Galen.

Since then I've had the carburetor replaced with a new Weber, put in a new choke cable, replaced the U-joints in the rear drive shaft, swapped out the points for an Ignitor electronic ignition and installed a CB radio in it. Nothing major. It ran when I bought her and it runs now. I drove it yesterday to the store to get beer.

I've taken her into a couple huge mudholes in her time, taken it off-road some, trailed it, and basically had a great time the whole time I've had her.

Her main problem now is rust in the front quarter chassis. One side of it I've had welded together and reinforced and the other side has some deterioration in need of attention. She also pops out of first and third gear some and you end up driving mainly in 2nd and 4th gear. I have a second working transmission in the garage that I bought from Tom in Pa that I never put in and will throw that in for free.

If you want a good series III at a good price and you want to replace the chassis and transmission then this would be a good project for you. 2500 bucks takes it all.

Rob,
looks like you will be seeing this 88 again, we are planning on trading my BMW Bike for the 88. When did you get a 04 disco?

Rob, When did you get a 04 disco?

Oh about 2 years ago now. Have a black on black HSE '04 and a green on tan SD7 '96 for about 3 1/2 years now.

This truck was always a good runner. I had it up to 60-65-70 several times on the highway. I think it had to do with the 15" wheels.

My current Series has 16" wheels and OD and I can't seem to get it going as well as the old red truck.

Todd, PM me an email address and I can send you tons of pictures of this truck.

This is what it looked like the day I bought it. It has come a long way!

Galen, I love this series. I've already dug into it. fixed a couple things. I'm going to bleed the brake they are really bad (to the floor) I have to pump to stop. It might be the master cylinder, it looks original, did you replace it?

I believe I rebuilt the MC but did not repalce. I did replace the slave cylinder.

Sorry I didn't get pictures to you. I was enjoying my first Father's Day too much!
