So It just happened all the sudden, I put it in 3rd and it sounds like chattering/ metal bumping. I disengage the clutch and it goes away. I think it's time to swap this gearbox. My question is I do not have the area or equipment to replace my it with a good spare I have. If I strip the interior and get it prepared to pull out the old one and replace the new one. Is there someone I could pay that know how to do this? I can tow it anywhere with my trailer.

Thanks!

You don't need anymore area that what the vehicle takes up. The only tool you need is an engine lift and that isn't even necessary if you get creative.

The job is actually easy. The interior comes out in ~2 hours and the trans can be ready to pull in ~another hour.

Call a shop day and take it up to Bill Simone's garage in Lebanon. You'll have 3-4 Series nuts on your truck like a fat kid on a twinkie. In and out in one day.

That truck can probably stear right to that garage it knows it so well and Tom and Bill certainly know the truck too. In fact your replacement trans came from Tom @ Robesonia last year.

Do you plan on replacing the clutch? I have the tool to loan if Tom doesn't.

I'll send you a pm with Tom's email.

I've got the hoist and an alignment tool, but no longer have the time to help. I've gone back to work as a 'consultant' for a major project.....

You can borrow my bits antime you need, but Bill's shop in Lebanon would be warm.

Bummer, I'll be headed home from RC. You need to get out to an event! Of course that is kind of hard with a non-functioning transmission.
