....So I'm the new and probably final owner of Galen's Series III. And I'm Giddy. But I plan on using a good bit, and some of that highway. Lead me to thinking - what is good rev. maximum limit on those Series 4 cyl? I'm just wondering, so when I take it down to the father-in-laws on the D.C. Grand Prix that is known as the D.C. Beltway, I don't pre-maturely ejaculate a bearing or something. By the way, it now has a Fairey OD on it, so 65 has it 3100 rpm's.

Please be kind I'm showing my Series novice here. :)

I have taken that truck on several trips to MAR without an OD crusing at 65. I can't give you a specific number but you should have no problem with the OD. It really does drop the revs and a trip to DC is short.

That being said, do as many backroads as possible and enjoy the Series ride. Or get earplugs. Actually, get earplugs either way.

Thanks. I always like to check as every engine is different. I had a 50 Stude pick-up once, and without modifications prolonged 4000 RPM traveling thrashed bearings quick. With OD you could cruise comfortably at 65, but still.

I think I'll be keeping the village bicycle for awhile. Besides it was my wife that really pushed to get it. Some stone guards on the lights, a set of PIAA's and maybe a roof rack, and the rest is good to go.

I think you can find what you need here (http://www.expeditionlandrover.info/gear_ratio.htm).

BTW, I hope Galen or Sean didn't overcharge you for that "Jimmy" can!!!

Hahaha, I just realized I said Jimmy. Oh well, crap happens and sinus infections suck.
