View Full Version : Head bolts

How scared should I be of them? I have everything off down to the heads. The bolts don't seem to want to give even with a reasonable amount of force. If I snap a bolt off in the block, it's really going to ruin my day. Do you just go at them with a breaker bar?

Seeing as a snapped bolt is what got me into this situation, maybe I'm just being a little timid.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks

Never mind, I dug out my man card and three feet or so of breaker bar. They still didn't come out easily, but they came out... on the passenger side anyway. I still have the driver's side to do.

I did manage to trash a 5/8 impact socket in the process. It split nicely at four of the six points.

Who is this Trevor - part deux that treads through my home town without my knowledge?

Glad to see you got them free. I have a rudimentary block pressure kit if you would like to use it. I did my Disco HG's a bout a year ago.
