A work in progress. I've had it since it was new. Now has 140,000 miles and still going strong but not without a few bumps in the road; ABS, drive shafts, head gaskets, ect. ect..... I still would not trade it for anything. Happy Rovering!

It definitely should have some life left. My dad's DII is somewhere around 310k, with plenty of bumps along the way.

Seriously? How many engines/head gaskets? and I am not trying to be a smart-arse.

It's not as bad as you might think. Though, I have on several occasions wanted to push it off a cliff.

One set of head gaskets at 80k and that's it. Original engine/trans/t-case/diffs etc. Only drivetrain parts to be replaced so far was the front driveshaft at about 80k (dealer doesn't replace u-joints apparently). Countless little things have gone bad over the years though.

Just added new tires and I trimmed the plastic on my stock bumper with a 4" grinder. I will use the old fog light electrical connections for roof rack mounted Hella's. I just have to run the wires up there; somehow.

They are Goodyear Wrangler AT's - 265/75/16. Found the best price to be at Walmart Online. Had to take them to a used tire store to be mounted & balanced. No normal shop would do it because the tires are two sizes larger than stock and they would not do any tires greater than 2.5% oversized. These tires are 7% over.
I am very happy with them so far. We are just back from a vacation to the Outer Banks of NC. 10 hour road trip each way and a lot of beach driving. The road noise from the AT tires is not bad.
