I didn't post this in the classifieds since it's not mine but I saw this auction on bringatrailer.com (http://bringatrailer.com/2011/09/06/penn-auction-of-british-vintage-racer-estate/)

Looks like a cool property and a collection of cars and memorabilia. 1966 Austin Healey 3000, 1962 Triumph TR4 vintage racer, Land Rover Series IIA, Morris Minor 1000, 1979 Jeep CJ5

I saw that auction mentioned on Bring A Trailer. Didn't realize there was a Series in the collection too. That might be a nice way to get a decent looking Series for not a lot of money.

Thanks for posting about this auction. There was a LOT of Land Rover stuff there.

Ok, the Series truck sold for $11,000. WAY outta my price range. I was hopeful though.

I did make out on a set of 255/55/18 goodyear wrangler HP tires though. Set of 4 with no dry rot and 7/32" of tread for $5. Yup, picked them up for $5. Not a lotta tread but my Syncrones are dry rotted and won't make inspection.

Also got 4 T-shirts, 3 framed sets of Land Rover cards, 10 die cast models, cheaply framed Defender calender, 3 Land Rover hats.

Also saw Peter O. and Bruce at the sale and also talked to Andrew from UK Motors Ltd.

The SCCA spec TR4 (?) went for $8000, the Morris Minor went for $1900 (and needs a lot of work) and the Austin Healy 3000 went for I think $23,000.

Next time you see Peter O. out somewhere tell him you have some old oil cans for sale, he'll wince at the thought. The guy who had all this stuff collected had hundreds if not over a thousand oil cans of various shapes and types. Auctioneer was determined to sell them one at a time.
