Opening things up to floor space and tenting in the field around the cabin this year due to popularity of event . Sorry folks but there is only 26 bunks and we're close to that now . We'll make room as we always have no shows and last minute cancelations just know I may not be able to offer all a bunk after we reach 26 attendees

Thank for you support!

I worked on the truck all day Saturday, just about ready to go. I need to replace all the tie rod ends and install new rod ends on my panhard bar Tuesday evening to get rid of the death wobble and I'll be set.

Hope we get to the cabin before dawn... Can't wait!

galen211
02-16-2015, 11:16 AM
If you're replacing the TRE's on your panhard rod you may want to check your muffler bearings too. :D

BTW, I was just having death wobble beginning to show and did my panhard rod bushings, it made no change. It was the shims in the swivel pins even though I did them less than 2 years ago. I think adding an ARB bumper and winch to the front end added enough weight to need a re-adjustment.

Saturday dinner is the shrimp boil, Evan said he is bringing shrimp, I'll handle potatoes, corn and sausage.

Cookies, snacks, desserts and drinks are always good to bring what you like and to share.

Loading up as we speak.

Dropped some heavy coin at LLBean yesterday for nuclear underwear for me and the lad.

Bringing a juicer and a bunch of oranges for fresh OJ in the am.

Bringing some red wine, and Gluewein..... (Mulled wine, German style, served hot) to share.

Also, I made what I call Irish Chili...... ground turkey, taters veggies. It's packed in one serving aluminum tins, I'll heat them in the oven Saturday morning and will carry them in a cooler......If you feel adventurous and have a good spot you can put one under your hood somewhere. I should have about 13 or so to share for Saturday lunch on the trail.

Have kinetic tow rope, shovel, a large hook bridle to connect said rope to chain links or axles. Managed to get the heater blower going, as well as the headlights. These are good things. There's some interesting looking wiring under the hood right now..... You can keep your smart ass comments to yourself.

Then again, wait 'till you see the MarkII fuel system.....I'll probably never hear the end of that. But, with two tanks full of crud, an inop fuel pump and just a few days to get everything done I had little choice than to think outside of the box.

Good news is that it's 100% street legal.

Looking forward to seeing you all again.

Have 100 foot extension cord, trickle charger and heavy duty jumper cables.

I do remember from the military getting coals out of the fire on a metal pan and placing them under the engine with blankets skirting the edges.....

With the Leopard I tanks we would just keep one running all night and jump off it. Food for thought.

SCC rarely yields much carnage. Last year Brett broke his winch line 5 times and tapped his off road bumper on a tree which promptly snapped the end of it off.

Uh huh....

I overheated my truck again Friday night, killed the battery trying to give the guys light while letting my engine cool down and shredded my rotoflex.

Frank had a brake line ripped off by a tow strap wrapped around the axle.

Dan G had loss of brakes, a locker failure and overheated.

Brett's LR3 had transmission faults from the heat of driving in the snow.

Fred's P38 had so much snow packed in the front tires that it lost the bead and the rims were spinning in the tires!

Oscar's Series didn't even make it 2 miles in and quit running.

Anybody else?

Home safe, with all the bits and pieces we left with, including the MFTactical flashlight I thought I lost out of my pocket on the trail, but found in a duffel bag. Brandon and I had a ball. Thank you to Evan, Galen and all others for making this happen.

Time to fix the fuel system on the truck. The temporary setup does not bleed itself right away when it sucks an air bubble going over the bumps..

Shopping for something with tracks..... Found this. Unfortunately sold, and if it wasn't it's a wee bit outside the budget......Would do the trick though..... Dreaming is free.

Cleared the codes on Saturday morning with Dans scanner and haven't had an issue since. I also had a reduced engine performance code and a parking brake code as well as no special programs. None of them affected the drivability of the truck on Friday night. I think the lr3 just doesn't like the cold.
