Early Series trucks had electric pumps where the output pressure would be 'low' (2-4 lbs). If fitting an aftermarket electric pump the issue would normally be too much pressure being generated. A regulator could/should be added and set at 4 lbs as a good starting point.

For a stock mechanical pump, I always thought the test was to see how much fuel got pumped into a jar when the engine was cranked over rather than attempting to measure the pressure. The objective is just to keep the float bowl reasonably full, which wouldn't take an awful lot.
