Hi all,

We are down to the home stretch on my Series and we need some help next Saturday. We will be sanding the truck getting ready for paint and the more hands we have the faster it will get done.

We are once again working at Bill Simone's shop in Lebanon and so far we have myself, Tom Bache, my dad Gaylord and my wife Jessica.

We are going for an easy paint job so all we have to do is clean up the existing surface so paint will stick. If you can help we would love to have you and lunch is on me!

You can contact me or Tom for directions to the garage.

Thanks,
Galen

looks like I have to miss this one. I actually like paint prep work ( how odd is that? )

Galen,
I just now saw this post! I've got a ton of things to do to the barn, but maybe I can sneak over this afternoon.

So, how goes the progress?

It goes very well, we sanded, prepped and painted in one day. I'm wasn't looking for a perfect paint job and overall it turned out better than I imagined. I have 15" rims for it that are sandblasted and painted they just need some new tires and the top will be getting painted to match the rims when I get it home.

Tom got me some Mack Truck red paint and it is RED!!

We had 6 people out so that really helped get through the work.

At this point if I get a title and registration soon I can drive it home.

Maybe you can find some fire company apparatus and have some additional fun with it!
Ladders, hoses, lights and a siren-yeah, yeah that'll do it!

Excellent! Love a nice odd color. I think the fire thing would be funny....
I painted mine with rattle cans in the alley, we'll compare paint jobs!

Jeff just bought a Series III fire truck in England. He said I could be his fire chief 88".

Throw in a Carmichael or a 109/127 ambulance and we've got a fire company. I have a 109 ambulance- if you thought a regular 2.25 LR was accelaration challenged, add a taller wider body to it!

Sorry I couldn't stick around for the application! That's a really cool color. You know, seeing Bill's shop and your Rover got me so motivated that when I got home, I actually cleared the boxes and garbage off the hood of my IIa in the garage! (That's a pretty big step these days.) :D
