Looks like I'm in.....

Work is a wild card right now. I have the days off, but there is some irregular stuff they can cram down my throat on a day off.

Barring that, I will probably have Hannibal ready.... (total re-wire and total fuel system replacement) I'm close.

Food wise I'll look at the list and figure something. Don't want to commit right now and then bail.

Look forward to seeing everyone.

I know this event is more than full, but, I was wondering if it is possible for my boy and I to come if we camp (We've camped in colder weather before) and are self sufficient. We are mostly interested in the Saturday drive. I know I'm a new comer and late to the conversation and completely understand if you want to keep it limited. We can always get our name in sooner for next year.

Evan asked me to remind everyone that we will be meeting at the Pine Hollow Inn in Canadensis, PA Friday night. Please try to be there at a reasonable time. I doubt this year will be like the last two years, but the sooner we can get to the trail head the faster we can get to the cabin.

On a separate note, I have a set of 4 snow chains for 235/85/16 tires or a close equivalent for the weekend if anyone wants to borrow.

Looking forward to meeting more of the group. We moved here two years ago from the Chicago area, living in Doylestown. I'll have my 10-year-old daughter along as well; she's a true Land Rover kid.

I'll have spirits in tow, along with some picnic-style food to share. Let me know what else I might want to bring.

Alrighty then......

Spent an insane amount of time working on Hannibal the last 6 weeks.

All new fuel, all new electrical and a few other odds and ends.

Drove it around for 25 miles today and it seems to be liking it. No bad noises, large puddles, smoke or flames.

Sooooo....... I think I'll drive up tomorrow. All back roads as I don't want an 18 wheeler up my :p
An extra 10 miles for a total of 65..... I'm leaving early so I have plenty of "oops" time.

Wish me luck.

(I have AAA platinum elite deluxe extra plus with enough towing miles to get me home, in my car and up there in time to see what my Equinox can really do.......)

Back home in one piece, other than my slightly worn out posterior. 130 miles in three days in a Series on a marginal cushion whilst folded into a pretzel does leave it's mark. I am happy and proud that the truck did so well. In fact it did so well that thugs attempted to palm it right in front of the cabin! Tisk tisk.....:p

I really enjoyed seeing everyone. Even though some of you are once a year friends, we are a community in a way, albeit a dysfunctional one, and it's a very special thing to me. Now that I have a working Rover I will try to make it to more events.

In a bit I will take all the pics I took, and the ones that Brian took of my truck and gave me, upload them to flickr and post the link here.

My deepest sympathy to Bill and Molly (don't know if you are here). I wish you strength and comfort in what ever way you can get it. Tonight I raise a glass for you.

Big thanks to Evan. There is no place like scc. Thanks to Galen for the game and prizes. As much as I loved battling 3' of snow and getting back to camp at 5am it was really nice to adventure around the whole property again. As always thanks to everyone who brought great food. Jeremy's muffins, Jill's lasagna breakfast, John's chicken pot pie, Randy's ribs and Oscars smoothies. Always a great time. Already looking forward to scc 2017.
