I realize this is a bit off yet but registration is now up and running on ROAV's website.

I'm trying to figure out how much money to send and I was wondering, do people actually go to Saturday night dinner?

Thanks,
G

I did in 03 and 04 'cause we had the booth next to the dinner tent and had no time to cook our own food. The food was fine and we had a good time at the auction.

Where has the crazyfish gone? I figured he would have chimed in by now.

Jason are you going? Taking that IIa this year?

I'm debating whether I want to drive down. With no overdrive I would be on my own b/c I can't keep up with the other series guys. Jason, maybe you could just trailer us all down in a big rig.:D

Sean is away for a few weeks.

If I were you I would definately drive down. If I had a car hauler I wouldn't mind trailering it for you.

Careful what you say. My dad has a car trailer and I have a towbar for flat towing.

I don't mind driving if I could keep up with the other Series guys, I'm just afraid of falling behind and breaking down alone.

Well you could always leave one day before us and we could pick you up the next day when you break down....

You can certainly convoy with us since we will have a trailer and won't be traveling that fast.

Just do what I do and break down in your driveway. It saves so much time and money. You don't even have to wash your truck afterwards.

So far that's what I've done. But the trees leave a yucky sap on the truck so I still have to wash it.:(

Broke my hand badly on vacation, in a cast for awhile. I can't drive the Short
Bus for awhile - or to MAR. Look for the one handed guy holding a cold beer the whole time while crying!

When you register does ROAV send you anything? I sent payment the first week of August and they have yet to send me anything or cash my check. I asked this question on their forum and got no response.

Just wondering if my registration was lost in the mail.

What happened to the bus? Just cause you can't drive it someone decided to borrow it?

LC, I'll be going down Wednesday to a friend's in Richmond then over Thursday to MAR. I had planned to flat tow and spent all last weekend reinforcing the front for a tow bar at my parent's house. My dad gave me his old F-150 and on the way home it lost oil pressure, so now I am back to driving it in the Series. But I'm leaving the tow bar on in case a gracious Disco/RRC driver comes along and is willing to give me a tug the rest of the way if I break down.

I am going to call Jeff and see what he and Bill plan for the week, last I heard they were going to camp.

Hey guys -- is anyone from NJ going to MAR?

I cannot make it down there, but am looking for someone to bring back a Series gas tank for me. Galen should have the tank but I'm hoping to save a trip to PA to get it from him.

So, if you r from NJ, are going to MAR and wouldn;t mind helping out, please let me know.

Jason, are you going? You live close to my girl friend, so that'd be great.

If not, anyone ... anyone ... "... something 'DO economics..." <movie quote>

I'm heading down from Readington, NJ (Hunterdon County). I'll be heading south bright and early on Friday morning and heading back on Sunday starting between 10 and noon. If you see a blue SIII 88 with a Jap kill flag on the door on a trailer behind a Black Disco I, that's me.

If you don't have anyone else for transport of the gas tank, I can bring it back.

That's a bit far from me -- I'm in Barnegat, along the coast not too far north of Atlantic City. It might be best for me to just get the tank at Robesonia in Nov.

Thanks for the offer though.

we are leaving from doylestown 18901 on thursday around 9 in the disco, heading to frederick, then down 15. longer but easy and pleasant ride. I still have no idea who has the Short Bus and don't know if it is going!

I'm trailering down Thursday morning with Randy and Derek, then meeting John Bradshaw, and Tyler Kinghorn in Manassas.
Leaving Hershey around 9-ish. Taking the turnpike to 15 and then turning south...
I'll have plenty of room on the trailer for a fuel tank.

Ben,

Where you at Spruce Cabin two years ago in a red 88 and had to leave early because it kept popping out of gear?

bens101fc
10-13-2006, 10:03 AM
Nope. I've never been to a ROVERS event. I moved back to NJ from Texas in 2001 and joined the club in 2002. Other than being on the email list for year, the only thing that I made it to was a day in the Pine Barrens in 2003. Somehow I missed the renewal notice and fell out of the club.

So I haven't been to Spruce Run. I also don't have a red 88. I've got a blue SIII 88 (Dora) which was at the MAR, a 73 101FC and my wife and I drive a black '95 5 speed Disco I and a silver '96 5speed Disco I respectively (though now that the Series is running again I'm driving that more than the Disco--Dora was off the road from 1998 to when I did a frame swap ad engine rebuild in 2003-5, briefly on the road from Spring 2005 to Oct 2005 when she was wrecked going to the MAR along with my red '94 Disco I 5 speed, and had yet another frame swap last winter and spring). I've got a '51 80" that starts and runs but has no brakes. Then there are a number of Series era LRs that are currently resting.

There could be a yellow 109 here if someone painted it and hid it with the herd out back. You never know. ;-)

I'm not sure if I want to give up my LR addiction.

The three things that are fatal when it comes to collecting LRs
1. Space to store them.
2. A trailer on which to fetch them
3. Extra $$$ to finance them. (though currently dead ones are farely cheap)

Having a SO that doesn't kill you when you drag home yet another derelict is a plus.
