I only listen to Sirius and never use my changer. I have heard of these "plugs" that replace the changer with a aux input so you can play an ipod or satelite radio through the cd portion of the radio. Anyone heard of these?

Blitzsafe makes the adapter you're talking about.

I was on the Blitzsafe site and could not figure it out. I do not know if I have an alpine unit or what. Emailed them, but have not heard a response.

Don't know much about them Peter, but I have heard about them....I think someone had a thread on Dweb about it a while back. Oh, and I've bought from Blitzsafe before, had a good experience with an adaptor for one of our VWs.

I also want to be able to use my Sirius Sportster with the adapter. It appears you can't with that set up.

What's this about?
"Before installing iCruze, your iPod must have 6 playlist setup named 1iCruze, 2iCruze, 3iCruze, etc. Each playlist must have a minimum of one song."

yeah that seemed rather odd to me, some bad software interface. Found the other model on the net, but no one seems to have it in stock.

I might just end up replacing the head unit if I can't find something that works. But that opens up a new can of questions.

time to call Crutchfield

Looks like they got every version covered

Called crutchfield. Their "best option" was to replace the head unit. Come on you stereophiles, someone must have an answer.

Kenwood offers an inline FM modulator for about $70 that is used by XM. I'm sure they offer the same for Sirius. I also have an XM ready Alpine head unit, if you feel like switching.:)

Success is mine! The Atlantic British aux adapter worked on my 04 D2. Sirius sportster playing through the cd changer wires.

It is quite difficult to find on the AB website. In fact, after doing some keyword searches (ipod, aux, mp3, etc) I could not find it again to post a link. It was $129.99.

Installation was a breeze. Took all of five minutes. But now I have a bad whistle when I accelerate through the speakers. Need to call AB to troubleshoot. Will let you know how it turns out.

The other technique is to call Eric Riston (x321) and ask for it. Usually he knows all of that off the top of his head.

Usually a grounding issue. The best way is all stereo grounds at one place, but we know how that goes. An inline noise filter sometimes helps.....
