Hey PA types -- I'd like to give my girlfriend a little 2-3 day getaway for Christmas and was thinking maybe a nice bed and breakfast somewhere in PA. She might be interested in seeing some Amish "stuff" so maybe something near Lancaster.

Basically I am looking for some place nice and scenic with at least some things to do.

Any input would be appreciated.

Now's the perfect time, the season is just right. You can play all day and dance into the night!

You may not be old enough to get that reference, I don't know.:)

Actually, the best B&B I've ever been to is the Queen Victoria in Cape May. If you call them, they can give you a good recommendation in PA from their registry. The best B&B's belong to the same organization.

Michael,

Do a search for Jim Thorpe, Pa. Supposed to be a nice area and there are some nice B&B's also.

Why not Spruce cabin camp? Ok so you have to provide your own food, cook it,and use the outhouse but hey its in a rather nice area.:D

The other place to check is Eagles Mere, PA. You'll think you drove to New England if you go to Eagles Mere. In the middle of nowhere and one of the coolest towns I have ever seen in Pa. Absolutely beautiful and secluded, most of the houses in town surround a lake and there is zero commercialization in the town.

In the winter when it gets cold enough the fire company cuts ice blocks from the lake and sets up a toboggan course down a hill onto the lake. They cut two grooves in the ice blocks for the toboggan runners using the same tools when they started doing this in the 1800's.
