Wondering if anyone has ever tried to put in a non-standard 4-way flasher?

It seems if you went the junkyard and pull a switch and the connector you could do this for a lot cheaper than the genuine stuff.

Has anyone seen anything like this?

I bought the one from Wise Owl. I was going to put it in when I did some corrective wiring, then I got a new wiring harness, but then waited for paint, then got a bulkhead, then wiring waits until the bulkhead is installed, I had to paint the bulkhead first, then I broke my hand, so the wiring and the bulkhead and of course, the hazard panel had to wait, then it got too cold or rainy out to work in the alley and and and....

Not sure about the Series III but it was pretty cheap and supposed to wire right into your existing harness/dash.
