As if I do not have a lot of projects going on I am thinking of reviving the military 109 that has been sitting in the garage for a while. The problem is I do not like the series III bulkhead and want to put a 1969 bulkhead on it instead. My only problem is that I cannot weld and the bulkhead needs door posts and footwells put in. So the question are:

1) Anyone in the area that does this?
2) How much should this cost (ballpark)?

Any help would be apreciated.

Thanks
Cristina

I can't help but I'd be interested in that SIII bulkhead if it's good.

Someday I would like to have real vents in my bulkhead.....

Foster Welding in Gardenville, PA has done lots of oddball welding for me over the years. Very techincial style welding ( read perfect ), they repaired all sorts of antique items, and lately my front horns and Peter's crushed crossmember. Priced fairly, Located just north of Doylestown. I'll probably have them redo mine when I swap mine out.

Oh, it's the kind of place I would just show up with the bulkhead as they aren't so great on the phone. Ask for Gary.

Sorry Galen, he beat you to it, its actually in very good shape with only surface rust and a couple of bullet holes by the vent screens.

Its a 1975 Welsh Guards military 109 with several bullet holes starting at the bulkhead and ending in the tub. Its actually pretty cool. I need to take close up pictures.

I can add those to your SII easy.

You're not supposed to repair that type of history. The bullet hole stickers never look as nice...

LOL, so can I, but a Series is already drafty enough.

But they are speed holes.

Like the holes in those banners strung across the power lines in small towns -- you know the ones announcing Founder's Day or the Fourth of July fireworks info -- those holes let the wind pass right through. Makes a Series far more aerodynamic.

Cristina, I have a mobile welder in the area that my company uses for everything. He is very good, will come to you, and do anything you can think of. He's not cheap, though.

The only vehicle that has the bullet hole stickers that I approve of is Dave's 101 FC. They look like a factory option!

I just saw this...Bullet holes...now that is great.
mine does not have any in it, just original paint. (EX FFR) Myself, i do not like the Series III bulkhead either, but i am keeping it just cus all the tags on mine are Norwegian and it is LHD. I was almost thinking of putting a Defender bulkhead in place, but i can repair mine, the Post are not as bad as i thought.
The foot wells are an easy weld.

Good luck with the SIII-SII/A Bulkhead. I would be interested in seeing that
