So Ben seems to be quite busy and so I will start this one. We have met on Wednesdays nights for a couple of times, so far. Would you prefer to meet on a Friday night or saturday? I can host this next one in Bridgewater if we all agree. Next Friday is the 26th. If Wed is better then its the 24th.

Cristina,

I'll be on the road all next week, so unfortunately we cannot make it.

Wed works for me. I'm afraid of going to your house for an extended period of time, though. You have way too much cool stuff lying around!:)

Everyone must be on vacation or working hard on those rover projects.

Since it's going to be Wed, I'll pick up the tranny for Carey then instead of today, o.k.?

Thanks for hosting Cristina! The rest of you guys missed out on some killer ziti! Next month, my place will be a little less formal. Twinkies and beer I'm thinking. You north Jersey guys are welcome to join us. Don't be shy.

Greetings everyone,
Hopefully Wed still works for you guys. I'm not sure where the venue will be. Could be my shop in Bridgewater, or home in Piscataway. I'm not opposed to meeting at a bar like the PA boys, either. Whatever y'all are into.

I'm up for that, but it can't be on a "school" night. I get up for work at 4:30. You know how I need my beauty sleep.

Here's the deal, I'll let you guys choose. I just got my 93 classic parts truck delivered to my shop in Bridgewater. A) We can go there, have pizza and plan our shop day or even tinker with it a bit. B) You can come to my house in Piscataway, look at my cold Series in the garage and tell me why it isn't running yet while we drink Fuller's and Guinness and eat pizza. C) We can go to Chimney Rock in Bridgewater, drink Fuller's and Guinness and eat pizza. Any of the above would suit me just fine.;)

cboy

I vote shop or house. There are no rovers at Chimney Rock :D

ccalado1
02-26-2007, 08:23 PM
Hummmmmm, dead series or range rover. Its a hard one. Just pick one and go with it. I have my eyes on that series so you might want me far away from it.

Cristina

Tom109
02-27-2007, 10:54 AM
Since you have plans for the RRC, maybe that's the better location. I'll probably go straight from work, so B'water is only a few minutes away...

Do I need to bring anything..?

580 Union ave (rt 28) in Bridgewater. Directly across from Elliott's Beverage on the corner of Chimney Rock Rd. I'll park my truck right out front so you guys can see it. I'll be there at 7:00. Pizza and Chinese next door, and all the beer you care to drink across the street.;)

I'd like to get organized for a shop day. Frank needs the tranny and some other bits, and I need to replace stuff I broke at SCC. I don't want to dive to deep into it tomorrow night, since it is a work night, but we can at least hang out and eat. PM me or call me if you need better directions. See you tomorrow!

Guys, thanks for coming out. Great turnout and I'm glad you like the space. Eric, special thanks for making my morning door opening ritual a thing of the past. Saturday March 10th Frank will be dropping the trans and we can hopefully pull some more bits out of it if anyone is interested in joining us. Eric or Ryan, if you talk to Abe, tell him to get a list of stuff he needs to me so we can tackle that on the 10th as well.

jason
03-19-2007, 05:58 PM
Any of you guy's coming on the 31st? Frank and I could really use the help. Tom, do you still want the 3.9?

Frank84
03-19-2007, 06:51 PM
I'll certainly be there, though I think you were counting on that already:)

Are you working that day or wrenching? I may be able to persuade some non-rover friends to lend a hand if you'll be in the office. However, I'm trying not to use up all my favors since the Strange Rover is still resting in the same place where you dropped it off!

I did, however, put all new seals and a new filter in the "new" trans - living 35 miles away from the truck makes it difficult to work on!

rmuller
03-19-2007, 09:36 PM
I should be able to make it.. What time you planning on starting? I have to do some things on my truck also, so I may try to balance out between the two..

I'm iffy. I have a kiddie bday to go to during the day. If you guys are still around at night, I'll stop in.

Does this affect our monthly meeting? I believe it's my turn on 3/28. All is welcomed at my house or we can go out to eat.

jason
03-20-2007, 06:06 PM
Are you working that day or wrenching?

I'll be drinking and eating, with some spotty wrenching breaks thown in.

jason
03-20-2007, 06:09 PM
Ryan and Abe, we'll be getting started around 7:45 - 8:00 and finishing up around 7:00 pm. Eric, if you can make it afterwards, that would be great. Besides, the shop is only one block from the Chuck E Cheese!:D

Let us know what you have in mind for the 28th. I'm up for anything.

For 3/28, we can go to Chimney Rock Inn since we didn't last month.

Oh, if you guys are starting that early on 3/31, I'll be there. I may just skip the kiddie part and just go at night when the poker starts :D

Yes, meet at the Pine Bank address. That is my house. It's a 1/3 of a mile, private gravel lane from Pine Bank up to my house. I'm at the very end. When you find the big field with large barn in the middle and see Land Rovers you are in the right spot.

Thanks to Ben for hosting us! We had a good time... got to drool over his plethora of Rovers in various stages of completion (or destruction?) ... went for a quick loop around in the woods which turned into a nice little mud fest... had to break out a winch.. and then a good chili dinner (and cookies) thanks to Christina!

Thanks Ben and Christina, great time! I don't think Elaine will be too happy with us doing donuts in my backyard next month.

Thanks all for coming. It's always great when a little Series can show the bigger Rangies and Discos how to drive a trail. ;)

1. I found a green ROVERS shirt in the kitchen--it must be yours Ryan

2. I'll also take a look out in the woods this weekend in daylight to see if the bumper endcap is there.

3. The responsibilities for organizing the upcoming NJ gatherings (4th Wednesday) are:
May 23: Jason
June 27: Ryan
July 25: Joe
August 22: Abraham

4. Lots of Series. Yes, that's the problem that you run into when you have space to store them. Fewer excuses to say no. But each one brings increasing spousal friction. "Hi, my name is Ben and I have a Rover problem."

Hey NJ Gang,
Wednesday the 23rd is the monthly at my house, unless Ben wants to tear up his backyard again.:D Someone please bring a defibrillator for my Series. I would love to get all you Series guys to breathe some life into it! If I don't get it running in the next two months, I'll be forced to sell it as is. Perhaps a trade and cash for something that rhymes with mutt-mutt?;)
Oh, and if you want to drink anything other than Guinness, let me know so I can prepare make the appropriate beverage aquisitions.

I received the wrong clamps (for my front ARB bumper) to use for brush guards. They tell me they should fit the Disco bumper. ARB told me to just keep them rather than send them back. I suggest a "dart-off" competition tonight for the Disco owners. Winner gets the clamps ($50 value).

See you around 6:30.
