I have done it.......with that "funny" feeling, something between excitement and sheer terror, I have comitted to paying a handy sum for a forty five  year old automobile which is thousands of miles away......

Upon viewing the pictures, my 14 year old daughter now refers to it as "The refugee vehicle" and wants to know what my plans REALLY are.....

I'll have TWO of the blue pills now...no wait, just give me the bottle.

What did you buy? Got pics?

Edit: Never mind -- I saw your other thread.

How are you shipping it here?

And don't forget about all of those 55 gallon containers of used oil dry to contain "those beauty marks" that your Rovers mark their territory with.:D

Sooo... I can only help but notice that your name still includes "LR owner wannabee". At what point after said purchase will it read "up to my neck in it" just like the rest of us????? :D :D
Congrats!!

There, signature updated. Yes kitty litter is good. I'm used to "seepage" though. In fact prefer it....no rusty nuts and bolts on the under carriage....

Furthermore.....took some down money to seller today, but didn't give it to him before we went for a spin, and took another gander under the thing...

I am pleased. Apart for some blistering around upper door hinges (nothing beyond repair) the thing looks good. And it rode well. No clunks. A little valve clatter, but better hearing them than too tight.

After shifting into overdrive it took the thing a few seconds to engage.....almost like a slow torque converter. Is that normal?

I have a Superwinch overdrive so I can't speak for the rest but I know that mine is just like shifting into another gear, no delay.
