I used to watch WRC on speedvision before they lost their "vision". I would love to see an event live.

When I was in Germany two summer ago they were running a TSD rally for classic cars around Heidelberg. My Aunt and Uncle took us to one of the stages in a small town near them and there were a couple of those original Quattros in the bunch. I'll dig out the pics tonight. They are very cool up close.

I'm in. My brother in law is getting his Swift fitted with a rollcage and prepped for rally.

I used to do support for a friend who raced english Ford Escorts (1.6 L and RS2000s) in SA.

Do they get the drivers from the SCC ProRally to compete?

This is part of the SCCA Pro Rally tour. It was the largest event on the circuit.

Check out next month's Road & Track. There's a picture of a nice vintage Ford Escort in the New Zealand rally.

I was in Heidelberg with my wife about 10 years ago. Absolutely beautiful. The three things that left the biggest impression:
1. Vetter 33 (syrup thick lager 33% alc.)
2. The castle, of course
3. Leaving town in a yellow Mercedes taxi cab on the Autobahn doing roughly 150mph. I may have coaxed him a little bit;) (I still can't figure out how he knew we were tourists:confused: )

Very tempting......long trip though. Camping if possible could be fun, I do have a pop-up camper that I can take.

Anyone know a larger town near Wellsboro that would have hotel accomodations? Even a B&B would work.

Try Mansfield, they have a college there and everything, it's just "down the road"

I did a little snooping at the chamber of commerce for Wellsboro. www.wellsboropa.com
Seems they have quite a few B&B's in the neighborhood. What are the prices for spectators? The one thing I couldn't find was prices and times.

Kinda a hard thing to charge tickets for, you sit in the woods along a dirt road or at least that is what the euros do.

jason

So then do you hop on a bus to a spectator point, drive there and park, walk through the woods avoiding wolves with picnic baskets and red capes? I've never been to one, only watched on TV.

By this point you wouldn't find an open spot any place in Wellsboro. Campgrounds would be full too.

If we search around we can probably find a place not too far away but places fill up fast in Wellsboro.

Huh. When I looked into Volunteering for this rally 2 years ago the SCCA had pulled out

Ahh, that may be true, I haven't been around it for something like 8-9 years.

Yeah. Paramedic I use to work with and I were going to go up and watch the rally and maybe run EMS as well. Ended up not being able to get the time off work to do it.
