View Full Version : Transmission For A Series III

Well I am still looking for a transmission for a Series III. So far no luck with Rovers Down South, I just keep getting horror stories about the state of the city after the flood, hurricane, etc. So if anybody knows about a decent transmission or where to get one, let me know. I would prefer a Suffix D model as that has all the upgrades that were made over the years.

Still wrapped around the axle,
Ken Heaton:mad:

Hi Jason,
Actually the transfer case and shift tunnel are OK and can be rebuilt, so that is good. The actual gearbox was from a Series IIA, it was rebuilt to like new, but apparently it got wet and the gears and shaft were rusted. I don't think it was even used. If someone had a IIA and needed a gearbox, it could be rebuilt. Someone must have put some effort into the box as it looked good, except for the rust.

Regards,
Ken

Well I'd be happy to take it back next time we are in the same vicinity. I've got a IIa and might need it someday. Who knows?

You can have it for sure, but it is in pieces. I want to keep the transfer case, as that is good.

Doesn't Jason still have Galen's in the back of his classic? Or did that finally make it to Carey?

I don't have it....nor does Galen..I think, so it must still be "winter wieght" in Jason's truck:)

I'll have a spare but Stuart is already feasting his eyes on it. I am sure that neither of them is a suffix d though.

George at RDS had some suffix D boxes a little while ago.

I actually forgot it was back there! Now it's resting comfortably in my garage waiting for G or Soli to come and get it.

I am now the proud owner of a brand new newly reconditioned Suffix D transmission hot off the dock from Atlantic British.:D
