RRC
-Replaced both tie rods on steering rod (test drove twice and adjusted for the steering wheel to align properly)
-oil change
-installed Pegasus hood pins

D2
-installed a 2003 bumper on my 2000. Grill will not fit now. Since I don't want to cut either one I'm thinking about selling mine and buyin a used 2003/ 2004 grill.

I aslo helped to install both alpine windows on my firends D1.

Busy day today!

The pins look pretty cool. How long did it take you? It took us about an hour but we were using playskool plastic tools. Have you thought about buying an aftermarket grill (chrome / billet) from Pepboys or Autozone? You could probably find one that is close to the same size and trim it to fit. You'd have a really unique front end.

Hey, just go Redneck mudtruck style and use expanded steel......:D

It took me about an hour too. The hardest thing was proper placement for the mounts. I also had to relocate the steering fluid reservoir. That was not fun. The trumpet from the filter box kept getting in the way.

As for the D2 grill, I am just going to put a factory one in there. Not trying to make it look custom or bastarized.

Busy day and nice work. Kudos and attaboys for wiping out your plate numbers in your photos. I think its a good idea when posting pictures although it is time consuming.

Today I finished the rear shock installation on the wife's 109 after adding reinforcement to the lower mountings. I started construction of her cubby box to replace the middle seat bottom. It is lower that the normal ones, since it is RHD and I want the ability for her to slide across to pay tolls and such. The box is also shorter, to allow for the diff lock knob and linkage, and narrower since the handbrake is now right beside the seat on top of the seatbox.

Next will be the front headliner install, cleaning the two back headliner sections, installing the rear sideways facing seats and wiring for the rear wiper-washer. Still need to install the trailer hitch and wiring, the rear grab handles and front apron.

We've driven it around the farm a bit, the 5 speed works great. The brakes seem a bit hard, perhaps the 109 booster isn't up to 4 wheel discs....

With identity theft running high you just never know who is gonna look at your plate and try to burn you.

I do like the JP LUVER plate idea though.....

I figured this would be a good thread to throw this out. Keith M and I started the process of getting my '69 Series IIa "stupid" running. We've determined the starter does work and we were able to spin the engine jumping the solenoid. The solenoid will need to be replaced. The points were corroded beyond repair so they were replaced along with the coil. We also proved the fuel delivery system is up to snuff, so I won't rebuild that yet. Unfortunately, I got the wrong cap and rotor, so that squashed our hopes of starting her up. Perhaps next week. I am confident that she will be on the road this summer. We'll see.

Sounds like your one solenoid and a dizzy away from being "stupified"!

Got it back yesterday. Runs like the day it was born! I think my fuel mileage went from 7 mpg to about 13. I can't believe I waited 4 months to get it fixed. I suck.

At this point, I've got more money than time, so I didn't have much of a choice. Of course I still have more time than brains, so you can do the math.:p

Haha! I'd like to get 13. I was around 10mpg on a mostly highway run down the turnpike - good think it isn't a daily driver.
