I need to trailer my series to Chesapeake, VA this weekend from Albany, NY. I was planning on taking 87 South to 287 South then the turnpike. Is there any problem towing a car trailer on the turnpike or any restrictions? Can I take the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel?

The NJTP splits into "trucks" and "passenger vehicles" for a while, not sure if that's North or South of 287....you would be hanging with the big rigs....no big deal.

I see 18's going across the CBBT all the time, see no reason why you wouldn't be allowed. A quick scan here: http://www.cbbt.com/ doesn't show any problems.

Sometimes they shut it down for trailers in high winds......(around 25 mph plus)

So I see no problems......but what do I know......

Here is a link to the listing for trailers for the NJTKP: http://www.state.nj.us/turnpike/gsptollsched.pdf

This is the same link to the CBBT: http://www.cbbt.com/schedule.html

You should also note any restrictions for HAZMAT issues.

Ah yes, I forgot, the tolls go up for the trailer.....I remember getting nailed big time with my boat trailer a few times on 95 in MD.

turnpike isn't a problem.. Garden State Parkway above exit like 100 has problems with trucks at least.

Kevin -- We're wheelin down in Southern Jersey at the pine barrens on Saturday, its not too far off the turnpike.. if you're around, feel free to join us or swing by for a bit.

Well Christina must be a hell of an enthusiast or a hell of a sleeper because I met Eric in her driveway to offload an engine with an F350 Powerstroke tow rig at 4AM today. Made it home from VA driving right through the night to arrive back in Albany at 7AM.

Kevin I was jetlegged and too exhausted to wake up. I was awake until midnight and then just crashed. It helps that the bedroom is on the far side away from the driveway. I wish I could have seen it.

We tried to be as quiet as possible while hoisting an engine off a trailer at 4am:D Glad we didn't wake you up.

Jason, did you go get your seats?
