Dave requested help setting up on the 10th instead of the weekend before the event. I know it's a little early to start this thread, but I want to make sure everyone plans their November accordingly!;)

Unless the Admiral comes up with somewhere for me to be, I will be available Fri-Sun....consider me a volunteer. I also have implements of various kind.....let me know what is needed.

Thank you Mr.X.Pres.

Now, as stated elswhere, I will be there to help setup on Fri/Sat and/or whatever.... Regarding the camping thing.....who is the Campmeister General? Is it Lyle (as per the form)? If so, can someone point him out on this forum? I was hoping to bring Sir Gasalot, with Mr. Toad on the "Big Red Trailer".......Is there a spot for Sir G?

oscar

9.00am-9.30am Scrutineering.
Basic safety checks, (steering, brakes, no leaking fluids etc.). Ensure any/all loose items are either removed or stowed in the rear of the vehicle.
(If your vehicle has passed State Inspection you should be fine, but please be aware that your vehicle will experience “lumps & bumps” not normally found on the road)
If you have a fire extinguisher, first aid kit and recovery gear please bring them and show them to a Group Marshall.
Group Marshall must sign Driver’s Score Sheet before assembling into groups.

NO FLUID LEAKS? Are we talking Rovers here?:D

BEER Oscar. No beer or alcohol leaks. That would be alcohol abuse.;)

You can shoot an e-mail to Lyle regarding the camping situation, or just wait till we get closer to the date and he usually pops up on the forum to give updates. For the most part, and Galen can correct me if I'm wrong, you show up, pitch a tent, and fend for yourself. Real camping style.

Cool, my plan was to show, set the brake and be comfortable....Sir Gasalot is a fully self contained 1972 Coachmen Motorhome.....22 feet of it. Just wondering if there's a place to park it.

Lyle will probably let you park in his driveway overnight and that is plenty level. I stayed in his camping trailer last time and didn't fall out the bed for lack of levelness.

show up and make sure you tell everyone you want a spotter. If you think you can't make it, there are always bypasses. Go slow and you'll do fine.
We've had a stock 03 ( new at the time ) Range Rover do it and stock LR3's hit the course.

My first few times, I was just trying to get to the end, no worrying about the score. Learned a lot, and now I just try not to finish last.

I agree about the "take it easy and ask for guidance" recommendations! Biggest thing I've seen is that sometimes people forget that the back of the Rover has to get throught the same obstacle as the front and will follow a tighter arc-hence more tree scuffs towards the rear- and that the back end needs to be let down over the obstacles gently-especially D2's with the-ahem-larger backsides.

When did you get an ambulance?

Nice. I'm leaning towards using the D2 as I'm too lazy to drive the 88" that far.
Picked up the ambulance a few weeks ago with a bad clutch. Swapped in new hydraulics but still need to swap the actual clutch. Hoping to go for a drive in it before Thanksgiving.

Event is ok to bring anything that will not impact negatively on the event. If the Dogs, kids and such are well behaved and keep out of harms way...it's OK. Update on the trails, there are two that need help on Saturday morning. I need a head count if possible to see what all we can get done. There are trees and limbs (tree limbs that is) on sections #1 and #8 that need to be cleared. Also Saturday we must make all the signage necessary for the sections and roads and put them up. Soda and chips also need to be had along with something for breakfast on Sunday. I will be working alot this week and will only have the morning on Saturday as I have a birthday party to run for my youngest son so I am really looking for some help on Saturday this year. If anyone knows their coming please let me know. I also have a Rangie that is for "rent" for the event if you promise not to wreck it. It is for sale but will not pass inspection so email me offline if interseted in borrowing a truck for the event or for purchasing for parts or restoration.

Mike,

I'll grab the soda but something has come up and I can't be there till the afternoon.

I might be interested in that Rangie Lyle, I don't plan on running mine since it is for sale.

Also, I am getting some prizes together. First place in both categories will be a kinetic yanker rope and second prize will be a hi-lift. Mike is donating one hi-lift and I am going to pick up another for the other category.

if you have never used a kinetic yanker they are the way to go!

Weather right now, snowing, making the ground a little white here and there. Oughta be fun on Sunday! Just two sections to set canes back up and all the road, stop, and start signage. Hope to see you here!

I'll be bringing cake to help celebrate my father-in-laws 60th!!! There should be plenty to go around. Please help me with a special ROVERS edition B-Day chant after lunch. He'd get a real kick out of it. Anyone else's birthday let me know and we'll include you. Now I just have to figure out how to get the cake there w/out him seeing it.
