The wife's SIIA 109 was also on the road last Friday, just in time for the AGM. It was originally an ambulance, converted by RN sometime ago. It had been totaled by hitting a Jersey barrier head on when be bought it.
New Marsland standard chassis, RN parabolics, Range Rover disc brake axles, Defender 3.9 V8 and R380 5 speed / LT230, Disco steelies, 275-75-16 Kuhmos. Dual fuel tanks, with the right side tank now having an outside fill. It had a bonnet mounted spare but the big tire obsured too much view, so I set the tire behind the bulkhead on a modified 88 bulkhead spare mount. The battery is now located in front of the right rear wheel, below where the spare usually resides in a two door 109.
The only problem so far is warm engine temp on the highway. I plan on installing louver panels onto the bonnet to relieve the under bonnet area at speed.
