This is the setup I was going to run on my truck. After searching around it seems that tubes are quite hard to come by and that 5 inches is not really an ideal wheel width for this size tire. I have heard differing opinions of course. Some say that it is perfectly fine. What would you guys recommend? I was thinking of purchasing some of the 16x6.5 wolf wheels that are meant to be run tubeless. The pain of running a wheel that isn't wide enough with a tube seems to be worth the price of the wolf wheels. Thanks

Personally I'll settle for anything that's round and does not shake, with minimal cupping and screaming.....but that's just me....;)

Ask over Guns and Rovers board. The wolf wheels leave very little thread for lug nuts. Why not buy the standard Series 16" wheels from RN or AB? They are the ones made for 109's, not sure of the width but you can run them tubeless. I have the original 15" wheels, run them tubeless and have no problems whatsoever.

I have the new "dunlop" 16" rims. on sale they were $50 each, bought at MAR. I run without tubes, I'll get my tire size tonight - basically a 7.5 x 16 tire standing at about 31.5 inches if I recall correctly. Skinny and Tall.

I'm running (using the term loosely) 265/75 BFG-MTs on original 16" wheels on my 109 without tubes. They work great but the left front rubs the spring a little on tight turns.

I have been using 235/85/16 Traction plus, made by Goodrich, on 109 wheels without tubes for over two years and no problems. jim
