I'd trade mine for that configuration...

Oh wait, it's one of those crappy series III's with the funny lights and plastic dashes.....

Sarcasm mode ON: The SIII is clearly BETTER and VASTLY safer than an SII or SIIA. The guages are placed directly in the driver's view, not 'over there', the SAFE padded dash will prevent impact injuries in a crash, the mandatory seat belts and anti-burst door latches will prevent EJECTION in a rollover, the plastic grill is RUSTPROOF and SOFTER, clearly an improvement over the early trucks, showing the industry trend in better rust resistance and pedestrian safety. We Series III owners are without a doubt the owners to be envied in today's world. I mean, Land Rover wouldn't have sold an inferior truck....

But Bob, you can't cook steaks on your plastic grill over an open camp fire!

Tom, "can't" is such a strong word, maybe the discerning Series III owner merely chooses not to......:D

is it not true that most of todays cars have plastic grills, bumpers etc?
the series III was revolutionary in its use of plastic and was probably soley responsible for the use of plastics in the auto industry today!! :p

And you CAN cook a steak on the plastic grill, once. Or maybe just start cooking one.....
