I just wanted to pass the word on to those who did not know (which is most of you) that the rovers club has been officially recognized by the State of New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry for our volunteer efforts. I went to Waterloo Village on saturday to a small ceremony to accept a certificate.

They did change our name on the certificate though to "Brushwood Rovers" which refers to the area of the park that we have been working in - ohhh well.

The club stood out from everyone else. There were tons of people and groups that "maintain flower beds", "paint trail markers", and "track invasive plant species" - but we were the only ones recognized for "large scale debris removal"! We sounded very cool.

Thanks everyone!

Great work Frank!!!

As the point-man/organizer, I suggest a photo of you holding the award, and a small blurb for the newsletter. This is somehting all club members should be aware of, in fact, it would be good PR for 'non-clubers' to know about. Know what I mean, wink-wink, nod-nod...

Tom - maybe I'll pose with the certificate for the next newletter. I think it is a little late for the current one. I'm camera shy anyway!

Hey G -- it's all about the "grip-n-grin!" When can we expect the next newsletter anyway?

It's in the hands of the USPS as we type.

I heard chicks dig certificates from State Forests, especially for "Bushwood"

I'd probably hang that over your headboard.

maybe i'll try mounting it on the rover and see what happens. girls seem to be skeeved off by the strange rover but with the certificate things might change. i could photocopy it for others to try as well.

Good job, Frank! Wow, four years of hard work and dedication to get a certificate. Sounds a lot like college.;) You've built that event into something special, and I'm glad you're getting the recongnition for it. Maybe someday they'll give you a key to the gate!
