We finally had the fuel tank replaced in our D1 this week (factory recall). This was the first time in a dealership in years. Julie went immediately to the show room floor to check out the LR3. The one on their floor had a dead battery(!), as a result the air suspension was in the 'kneeling' position. She could not believe how low it sat - "...like a regular car".
Many of you have seen our '96 D1, a few off-road mods and a good all-around Rover - quite tame by club standards. Well, when the guy stepped out after pulling around front he stated, "that's a REAL Land Rover!". Obviously the oldest vehicle on the lot, and the only one you had to climb into.
If I ever need to go by again, I'll take the 109 and see if that guy who offered me $40k is still around...
