The date is set! Passing along info from an email from Mike.

We are going to do something different this time, its for the ones that are
not experienced in off-road.

Come out and give it a try and see what you and your rover can do.
The courses will be set up to challenge you and rover but not to the
extent in previous events.

We will have lunch and at the end of event prizes will be handed out to
the one with the lowest score.

A drivers meeting will be held before the event starts as well as the rules
of the event.

Event will be held at Robesonia and if directions are needed we can help
out to find your way there.

Date ( April 12th 2008 ) time 9:00 sharp no later!
Preregistration is a must no exceptions.
Have fun, learn more about your land rover and meet new people.

Glad to hear there will be something for the inexperienced. Is there a new registration form? One with Class C or something for beginners or should we just make a note on the old form?

Can't wait! I'll be there.

Since my S.O. had a mild freekout after I drove my D1 through this year maybe the "inexperianced" trip through will be a good thing to get her into driving off road. This means a different course and everything. So none of this?

Evan... I was new to Robesonia last year so dont be worried. The course is like this.. if you feel like youll break something dont do it. I did all but the steep rocky rip bumpers off stuff in my stock 03 w/ no problems. It a great time to learn what your Disco can do. See ya!

Evan - Welcome to ROVERS! I think your Disco will do okay, even if it is the first time you've ever taken it somewhere other than the mall parking lot. If you are scared, maybe you can ride in some of the "serious" Series trucks - those are the ones that look old like they were in an African safari movie. I think you will learn a lot either way.

Hey, I was new to Robesonia this past fall and loved it. My son liked it also. I did do a little damage though to my front air dam and rear bumper:eek: They were just in the way anyhoo. But put me in for the spring event. It is like a fever. Hope to have my lift and tires by then;)

Are past champions, like myself, allowed to attend the event and the luncheon? How about children of past champions, like myself?

Here are a few shots: The first one is after I washed it. This car has been in the same family since new. Last it was on the road was 1971. It was a good 20 years since it was washed but always garaged. Still has the old tag and inspection sticker from 1971. The guy moved to Florida about 7 years ago. I had it shipped back up here but it was in Pa. most of its life. Zero rust! Repainted in the early 60s. Basically all original. For a 60 year old car it is doing very well. We have the brakes apart on it now. Supposedly he had it running 6 years ago. The motor is free. The clean up shots were about two weeks ago. All done by hand. I have almost 30 hours on the interior alone, removing every screw and polishing and etc. As you can see the windows are now also transparent again with a lot of polishing. The rear quarter shot is as I was polishing every panel. You can see the difference. Also when it was repainted they reshot the wheels and painted over the factory wheel stripe. If you look at the spare a lot of hand work with compound and the stripe reappeared. It is all shiny now. Just some touch up and have to do the 4 other wheels. I had to stop because my fingers were coming apart. Not sure if we will make Carlisle or not. We have other cars to finish as well. Scott
