2.25L Manifolds to Cylinder head gaskets.

In the 2.25L gasket set there are numerous manifolds to cylinder head gaskets.

One (8-port gasket) and two (2-port) metal gaskets for the inlet manifold. Do they all get used?
The "official" manual doesn't say anything, but an old Haynes manual says that the two (2-port) metal gaskets get used on late model vehicles, but does not say whether these are in addition too or in substitution for the one (8-port gasket).

Anybody know?

Use the one-piece 8-port gasket. This will seal both the intake and exhaust manifold-to-head junctures.

The two metal (2-port) gaskets were intended to seal the intake-to-head, then the exhaust manifold-to-head was sealed by the mating surfaces only! If you ask me this was British Leyland cost-cutting at its finest - don't do this!
