    Default Series IIa Steering

I read somewhere ( and can't find it again ) a write up on how to "tighten" up your steering. Not the full blown rebuild but back to tolerances or something. I've got about 2 inches of play in the steering wheel now, and for most of the time it's liveable, but today driving up twisting and narrow River Road to Easton made me think about it some more.....

    Anyone?

    Default steering box adjustment

If you are talking about taking the play out of the steering box , it is simple and explained better than I can in the Green Bible. There is an adjustment bolt on the side of the steering box with a locknut holding it tight against the casing.Center the steering wheel , loosen the locknut , tighten the adjuster untill there is no play in the wheel, back off slightly, tighten locknut , done.

Its also a good idea to use some locktite on the "locking nut" ..
    Don't ask why I know
